I Got This: Interactive Story 1.10

I Got This, developed by The Lawrence Hall of Science at UC Berkeley, is an interactive first-person educational narrative that unfolds the journey of a young teenage girl who learns about her diagnosis of type 2 diabetes, a rapidly growing health concern in the United States and worldwide. Set in a realistic context, I Got This delves into the causes, symptoms, prevention strategies, and social implications associated with this transformative disease. The project received financial support from the National Institutes of Health and was crafted in partnership with UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland. It also benefitted from insights from educational experts at Tufts University and Children's National Health System.

• History: The Lawrence Hall of Science, a public science center affiliated with the University of California, Berkeley, has been fostering scientific engagement among parents, children, and educators since 1968. In the mobile space, the Hall has introduced a series of do-it-yourself science learning apps that have garnered recognition in reputable publications such as Wired Magazine, Gizmodo UK, FamilyFun Magazine, and Homeschool.com. Additionally, these efforts have been honored with a Parents’ Choice Silver Medal.
